Building Control Customer Charter

We aim to ensure the delivery of safe, healthy, accessible and sustainable buildings for current and future generations.

We will:

• Be helpful, courteous, prompt and efficient in our responses.
• Make the process of applying for approval, as simple and as easy as possible.
• Give free advice at design stage and preparation of applications.
• Check submitted applications within 21 days.
• Inspect relevant work on site and provide a 'same day' site inspection service for calls received before 9.30am.
• Issue a 'Completion Certificate' on satisfactory completion of your project.
• Provide easy to understand information in a suitable format.
• Investigate any dangerous structures reported.

If you are not satisfied:

• We will tell you how to complain.
• We will deal with the problem fairly.
