Building Control inspectionsRegardless of which type of building regulation application you choose there are a number of statutory inspections that are required. These depend on the type of works being carried out. To arrange an inspection: Please have the following information to hand: If you call before 9.30am we will try to offer a same day site inspection but this is dependant on our workload. We appreciate that construction timescales may change last minute. However, it is useful if sufficient notice can be given to us to arrange site visits:
It may be necessary for the inspecting officer to carry out additional visits to ensure compliance with the Building Regulations, for example any structural steels and/or wood and thermal insulation. For clarification on what needs to be inspected or to arrange an inspection contact our building control team or call 01993 861430. Completion certificate If the relevant inspections have been carried out and works comply with the Building Regulations you will be issued with a Completion Certificate. It is recommended that this completion certificate be obtained before the final payment is made to the contractor. Solicitors may require a copy of this certificate when you come to sell your property. The lack of a completion certificate can affect your ability to use or sell a property. It may also affect your insurance and may put you at risk of legal action. |
