Community Planning

Communities now have great opportunities to say how they develop and address issues through plans they develop themselves.  There are two main types:

Community Led Plans

These useful for considering the community as a whole and looking at a range of issues such as economic, environmental and social.  For more information see the Community Led Plans page.

Neighbourhood Plans

These are more focussed on land use and development issues, and if adopted, become part of the formal planning policy.  For more information see the Neighbourhood Plans page.

It is entirely possible for a community to undertake or combine both types of plan to give a really rounded vision for the community's future.

Help to decide which plan you need

The Which Plan? Decision Diagram will help communities decide which type of plan or plans are most appropriate for them.

For further advice on which plan is most appropriate for your community, please contact Astrid Blackburn or call 01993 861420.
