Following on from the draft Local Plan consultation in late 2012, work is continuing in a number of areas related to Local Plan preparation. For an update on progress with the Local Plan, please follow the link below:

Draft Local Plan October 2012

The Council's Draft Local Plan was published for consultation from 7th November until 19th December 2012.

The consultation has now closed and we are currently considering all of the responses received. For information, the draft plan, supporting consultation documents and responses received can be viewed by clicking on the link below.

Draft Local Plan - November 2012

In response to the consultation, we received over 2,000 comments and are currently in the process of analysing these and identifying any additional research needed to take the plan forward. To view a summary of the comments received, please follow the link below

Summary of Draft Local Plan consultation comments

Throughout the preparation of the Local Plan, the Council has received a large amount of detailed information relating to potential strategic development sites at Witney and Carterton. Opportunity for further comments June - July 2011

Comments were invited on new documents published by the Council and on further submissions received from agents/developers pursuing development options on the fringe of Carterton. Comments received are being added to the consultation website.

Sustainability Appraisal

In order to ensure that our plans and strategies are the most appropriate in terms of their impact on the environment, the economy and society, we are required to subject them to a process of Sustainability Appraisal (SA).
