Sainsbury's want to develop the former Parker Knoll site on London Road, Chipping Norton.

The Uplands Area Planning Sub-Committee resolved to refuse planning permission for this Sainsburys development at the meeting on Monday 5th March 2012 for the following reasons:

1) there is a sequential preferable site;

2) it has not been demonstrated that the proposed development will not have a significantly harmful impact upon the vitality/ viability of the town centre;

3) the impact upon planned investment in the town centre;

4) the loss of the employment site

5) the siting of the proposed development

Witney - North Curbridge
Planning application no: 12/0084/P/OP
Oxfordshire Land Ltd want to build a major new development in west Witney, including:

1,000 new homes
A local centre including shops, primary school, possible secondary school, playing fields and changing facilities.
Employment area of 10 hectares
New access for vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists (including new junction at the A40/Downs Road)
Open space

This planning application was received mid January 2012. No date has been set for committee yet.
