Full plans applications charges

• A Plan Charge must be paid at the time a Full Plans Application is submitted to the Council, and an Inspection Charge will be invoiced separately to the owner or applicant, usually after the first inspection of the building work.  This inspection charge covers all inspections;

• Work carried out solely for the use of disabled people to accommodate their disability may be exempt charges;

• The charges (except Regularisation Charges) calculated in accordance with the following three schedules are subject to Value Added Tax (VAT) at the rate current when payment of charges is required.  A rate of 17.5% has been used in the tables within the information sheet;

• Applicants may wish to discuss charges with us before submitting an application.

Please note that the authority to make the charges given above is derived from the statutory instrument Building (Local Authority Charges) Regulation 1998, a copy of which can be obtained from HMSO bookshops and selected retailers.
