The Planning Policy section is responsible for preparing various plans and strategies to help guide future development such as housing and employment in West Oxfordshire.
The current over-arching plan for the district is the West Oxfordshire Local Plan which was adopted in 2006 and covers the period up to 2011:
We are in the process of replacing the Local Plan with a series of documents, collectively known as the 'Local Development Framework' or LDF:
The most important LDF document is the new Local Plan which sets out an overall strategy for the District over the next 17 years:
The NPPF was published in March 2012 and sets out the Government's planning policies for England. The NPPF must be taken into account in plan-making and in determining planning applications.
