Broadband public consultation
State aid public consultation
We are procuring further coverage of superfast broadband in West Oxfordshire and conducted an Open Market Review (OMR) in January 2017.
The OMR indicated that existing and planned commercial coverage for NGA broadband would reach approximately 41,700 premises within the next 3 years, but that approximately 7,300 premises would not be covered.
The 7,300 ‘uncovered’ premises form the proposed intervention area and this public consultation sets out the area in detail so that all interested stakeholders (including the public, businesses, internet service providers and broadband infrastructure operators) can comment on the proposals. In particular, the consultation provides an opportunity for broadband infrastructure operators to review the Council’s mapping to ensure that it correctly represents the information provided by them in the course of the OMR.
Please see the Public Consultation document for further details including the maps and how to respond. The consultation closes on Tuesday 02 May 2017.
In addition to the formal public consultation, we have added Superfast Broadband status to the "My West Oxfordshire" online mapping tool. This enables local residents and businesses to search for their own premises and see whether we think they can get superfast broadband or not. Please search My West Oxfordshire and let us know if we have classified your property correctly.
