Comment on a licensing application

Residents and businesses can object to, or support, a premises licence, club premise certificate or variation to a licence that is within their vicinity as long as it relates to one of the four objectives:

  • Prevention of crime and disorder
  • Public safety
  • Prevention of public nuisance
  • Protection of children from harm
Comment on an application

If a relevant representation is made (an objection or support), we must hold a hearing to consider the representation(s), unless all parties agree by giving a notice in writing that they consider a hearing is unnecessary or that conditions are agreed by all parties.

Where no relevant representations are made by responsible authorities or interested parties, we must grant the licence application subject only to the mandatory conditions, and conditions or restrictions mentioned in the operating schedule.
