‘X’ marks the spot!
Voters should start getting ready for the local elections on Thursday 2 May.
Across West Oxfordshire:
- There are elections taking place in 16 of the 27 wards which make up the area of the District Council
- Town and Parish elections are taking place for Carterton Gateway and Milestone wards, Chipping Norton, Combe, Ramsden and all six wards of Witney Town Council
- 61 polling stations will be open
- More than 130 polling station staff will be on duty
Keith Butler Electoral Registration Officer for West Oxfordshire District Council, said: “Putting a cross in a box might seem simple, but there are plenty of things voters need to consider in order to be ready for May’s local election.
“Your poll card will tell you the location of your polling station, and you will find more information on how to take part at www.yourvotematters.co.uk. Voters can also get in touch with the team here at West Oxfordshire District Council with any further queries.
“If you are registered, you do not need your poll card to vote, however, we would encourage you to bring it with you to make the process quicker and more efficient.”
Phillippa Saray, Electoral Commission Regional Manager for the East and Southeast of England, said: “Polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm on Thursday 2 May. Voters who have opted to vote by post must return their postal ballot pack by 10pm and can hand it in at their polling station if they don’t have time to return it by post.”
