Recycling advisors take to the streets
A team of advisors from West Oxfordshire District Council are taking to the streets to raise awareness of recycling by letting residents know what items can be picked up as part of their household service.
They will also be on hand to answer any recycling queries residents may have and distribute information and recycling containers.
The team will be visiting as many households as possible over a six-week period to try and boost recycling in West Oxfordshire, particularly through the food waste collection service.
Cllr Steve Good, Cabinet Member for Environment, said: “Recycling and reusing materials helps the environment by saving energy and resources but sometimes it can be difficult for people to keep on top of exactly which items should be placed in which bins. Our website is an excellent source of information.”
He added, “Although West Oxfordshire has high recycling rates, we are keen to do all we can to help people achieve more which is why our advisors are raising awareness.”
