Support for Soldiers of Oxfordshire Museum
Council Chairman, Maxine Crossland, recently presented a cheque for £600 to the Soldiers of Oxfordshire (SOFO) Museum at Woodstock.
The money was raised at the Chairman's charity reception in October.
Brigadier Ian Inshaw DL received the cheque on behalf of the Museum and said, "My thanks to Maxine for supporting us so ably and contributing significantly to our funds."
The SOFO Museum in Woodstock is not a Regimental Museum, but more a Military Museum related to the connection between the Military of Oxfordshire and the County.
Their aim is to tell the stories of soldiers, their families, the county towns in which they lived or came from and the consequences of conflict on them and the County.
The museum has outreach and research departments, which are there to educate and inform adults who are carrying out their own research, for schools who are meeting the requirements of their school curriculum and for general public interest.
