Getting here

By car

West Oxfordshire is linked to the A34 and M40 and the rest of the national motorway network, so it takes just over an hour to get to both London and Birmingham. To plan your route: AA route planner

By bus and coach

By train

The Cotswolds Line operates from London Paddington to Hereford and Worcester. There are seven railway stations in West Oxfordshire on this line: 

  • Hanborough
  • Combe (limited service)
  • Finstock (limited service)
  • Charlbury
  • Ascott-under-Wychwood (limited service)
  • Shipton (limited service)
  • Kingham

The London Paddington and Oxford to Banbury Line stops at Tackley station, in the east of the area.

By plane

  • London Heathrow and Birmingham International airports are within an hour's drive and can be reached by car, bus and rail. 

Getting about

Some of the local transport runs frequently but it is a rural area so you will need to plan your journeys before you set off to explore each day.
